(A', B') High-magnification images of the boxed regions, respectively. No Galectin-1+ cells were detected in the DG of galectin-1 null mutants, indicating that the staining was specific for Galectin-1. (C) Low-magnification images of Galectin-1+ cells in a coronal section of the adult mouse brain. Galectin-1 was expressed in the cortex, SVZ, and hippocampus.
