LRRK2 mediated p53 phosphorylation induces p21 expression in lysates of rat primary neurons and midbrain of G2019S TG mice. Transfection of rat primary neurons with myc-G2019S (a), HA-p53, T304/377D and T304/377A (b) or FLAG-p21(c) was carried out and expression levels of p21 were detected by Western blot analysis. The cells transfected with FLAG-p21 were also subjected to LDH assay to measure cytotoxicity (c). The experiments were repeated three (a, c) or four (b) times, and a representative result is shown with the statistical analysis. d.
