Differential expression of candidate miRNAs within the spinal cord of sALS patients. Candidate miRNA expression was examined in ventral spinal cord tissue of sALS patients (n = 8) and control subjects (n = 5). MiR-194 and miR-b2122 were significantly down-regulated in sALS patients, while miR-sb659 showed no difference and miR-548× was not expressed in the spinal cord tissue. Data was expressed as Log10 (fold-change) ± SEM, and significance was determined using Students t-test (** = p < 0.01, *p < 0.05, NS = p > 0.05)
