AAV9-Retro mediates efficient transduction across the CNS with an efficiency comparable to that of AAV9. EGFP-expressing rAAV9 or rAAV9-Retro (5 × 1011 vg/mouse) was intravenously injected into adult mice. No statistical difference was found in the total number of EGFP-positive neurons in the brain (2323 ± 308.6 for AAV9, 2513 ± 672.2 for AAV9-Retro; P = 0.8096). The data are shown as means ± SEM. Statistical significance of the differences was set at P < 0.05
