Effect of neonatal DEX treatment on glutamate uptake activity in gliosomes. DEX-treated group exhibited a significant decrease of total, and GLT-1-mediated glutamate uptake compared with those of SAL-treated group. The non-GLT-1-mediated glutamate uptake was calculated in the presence of GLT-1 inhibitor dihydrokainate (100 μM). The numbers in parentheses indicate the number of animals examined.
