Regulation of synaptic plasticity gene expression by nicotine in the hippocampus (a) and amygdala (b) of F344 rats. Moderate chronic dose of nicotine increased expression of genes in the Ca+2/calmodulin-dependent kinase-IV signaling and Raf/Mek/Erk signaling pathways in the hippocampus.
