The neuroprotection induced by CDPPB, URB597 and JZL184 can be blocked by both CB1 and mGluR5 antagonists. Graphs show cell death levels of primary cultured corticostriatal neurons that were either untreated (−) or treated (+) with 50 μM glutamate, 1 μM MPEP, 10 nM AM251, 100 nM CDPPB (a), 1 nM URB597 (b) and 10 nM JZL184 (c) for 4 h. Data represent the means ± SEM of four independent experiments. n.s. indicates not significant, * indicates significant difference as compared to glutamate treated neurons (p <0.05) and # indicates significant difference as compared to untreated neurons (p <0.05)
